Waiting...

With such a long cold spring all the plants are running behind. Rhubarb, Elderflowers and Strawberries have all been late. This means we are at the Summer Soltice and it feels like we are still in early May! Using seasonal produce means we are tied to the weather. Some years it results in a glut, other years it's a famine. We will have to wait and see if the late frost caught the plum and apple blossom. I have some tiny plums on my tree but we will have to wait and see. So far I have gooseberries on my bushes and blackcurrants beginning to show. With new places being found for foraging there is always hope for a bountiful summer.
